Rules - 2007 - 7th Edition

1.-The 7th Edition of the Canary Islands International Song Contest is open to: Composers, Authors and Singers from any part of the world. They will can partipate in the following Categories:

NOT LIVE CATEGORIES - The songs are judge for an INTERNATIONAL JURY from their countries. It's not necessary the live performance of the participants. The Jury members give their votes to the received works (Original Songs or Interpretation):

Category 1) Original Song (All the genres)
(In any language with translation to Spanish or English)
Category 2) Interpretation of Original or Published Songs

(In any language)

All the works presented to Category 1 must "Original Songs" (Without national or international distribution for a Mayor Label)

In the Category 1 will be judged and value the ORIGINAL SONG, been awarded the songwriters

In the Category 2 will be judged and value the INTERPRETATION, been awarded the singers

2.- The submmitted songs must not exceed of 4 minutes each and must be sent recorded on CD. Participants that wish submmit several songs, can send them all in the same cd. Each participant can submmit as many songs as they wish, but must present an entry form for each one of them. The artist must also enclose a recent photo of him or herself, preferably via diskette and in jpg format.

The ENTRY FORM can be obtained from the Festival Website (www.festivalinternacional.com). Just follow the instructions in the main menu.
The start date for admissions is February 1 2007. The ending date is June 30, 2007. (accepted with that last postmarked date).
The Festival Committe could change the deadline if it was neccesary. EXTENDED DEADLINE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 15.

The submission fees are clearly shown through the buttom "submissions" of our menu.

4.- The participants are totally responsible for any possible infractions relating to the intellectual right properties of the author or material of any work presented. The Festival organization will not be responsible for any problem(s) or infration(s), being free from all responsibility at the moment each particpant signs the Entry Form. If a participant is under age, the signature of a parent or responsible guardian must accompany the entry form, thus showing acceptance of the rules of the festival.Signing the Entry Form in any of the Categories allows legally the Festival Organization to use and present the work, names and images of all participants into the general media that would be necessary for promotion, and for any other use of the festival itself.

5. - The different AWARDS are shown clearly by the link "Awards" in the main menu of the Festival website.

6. - All participants will be judged by an INTERNATIONAL JURY that will be composed of Authors, Interpreters, Musical Directors, Recording Studio Representatives, Musical and Literary Publishers, Journalists, Writers and other cultural world representatives, all of them well recognized professionals with high valued prestige careers, and whose names will be clearly shown listed in this website. All selections and eliminations will be shown as results at our festival website. The votes of the International Jury will not be allowed to be changed. All will be legally shown in the act form.

7.- It will not be permitted as participants any member of our Organization team, from the International Judges or any involved company or investor.

8.- ADDITIONAL CATEGORY: There is a third Category of Participation as LIVE CATEGORY , in which the International Jury members will judge and value the Original Song and the Interpretation with a Live Performance. 15 artists will be in the Final after a Selection. This Category is an independent Festival:

and the deadline for the UNIVERSONG is March 31, 2007.
